Forney ISD Community Partners Make Significant Donations During ‘Pack the Pantry’ Drive

During the month of November, the Forney Independent School District held a ‘Pack the Pantry’ food drive to benefit the Forney Food Pantry. Throughout the month, students, staff members and parents donated thousands of food items, toiletries and other household products that were delivered to the Forney Food Pantry on Thursday, Nov. 15.

The District set a new record this year with a total of 42,123 donations to the Forney Food Pantry. Two schools led all other schools in the District with the most donations. Rhea Elementary School collected a total of 15,430 donations to lead all elementary schools as well as all schools in the District! Warren Middle School had the most donations of any secondary school with a total of 4,917 donations!

In addition to the schools in the District accepting donations for the Forney Food Pantry, the District partnered with a number of local businesses and organizations in Forney to collect donations as well. Several businesses joined the District in the Pack the Pantry drive and collected a total of 1,176 in donations. In addition, the businesses also collected a total of $750 in cash donations! AJB Pest and Termite was the winner in the business category with 271 donations.
