Forney ISD Pre-K Students Hold Downtown Character Book Parades
Students in the Forney ISD Pre-Kindergarten (Pre-K) programs recently held Character Book Parades through downtown Forney.
The parades, which were originally scheduled for Halloween but had to be rescheduled to Thursday, Nov. 1 due to rain, started at the Forney Learning Academy where the District's Pre-K program is located. The students then paraded in front of the downtown businesses along Bois d'Arc before turning east and parading in front of businesses on the south side of East Main Street.
Restaurants and other businesses located in downtown Forney offered the students treats throughout the parade.
Forney ISD's Pre-K program is for students that turned four on or before Sept. 5 this year. The program, previously housed at several campuses across the District, was centralized into the Forney Learning Academy (FLA) starting with the 2018-19 school year. The Forney Learning Academy houses all of the District's early education programs.
