Wright Named School Nurse of the Year
Forney ISD recently announced the District's School Nurse of the Year. Karen Wright, the school nurse at Lewis Elementary School was recognized as the District's 2017-2018 School Nurse of the Year.
Wright was nominated by her principal Jenny Harstrom for her outstanding support to the students and staff at Lewis throughout the school year.
"Karen is the most knowledgeable nurse I have ever worked with," Harstrom stated. "She is dedicated to doing her job well and making decisions on a daily basis in the best interest of the students and staff. She is very cautious and pays very close attention to details."
Harstrom added that Wright consistently communicates with students and parents about health related issues and has brought in several consultants to the school to promote health. She also set up a booth at the District's Health Fair this year which addressed bike safety.
Congratulations to Karen Wright from Lewis Elementary School for being named the 2017-18 Forney ISD School Nurse of the Year.
