Forney ISD Dual Language Enrollment for the 2018-19 School Year
Forney ISD will begin taking applications for the District's 2018-19 Dual Language Program on Tuesday, April 10, 2018.
Advantages to enrolling in the Forney ISD Dual Language Program include:
· Students will approach bi-literacy
· Students will have a marketable skil
· Research shows that students that are bi-literate do better in school.
Forney ISD Two-Way Dual Language program provides the following:
· Students in the program are taught in two languages: English and Spanish
· Students will be able to speak, understand, read and write in English and Spanish
· Parents will have the option to apply for the Dual Language program in Kindergarten.
Two-Way Dual Language program application process for school year 2018-2019:
· Students must be 5 years of age on or before September 1, 2018
· Interested parents must attend a Program Informational/Application Meeting.
There will be two Parent Information Meeting for Dual Language. The first meeting will be held on Wednesday April 25 and the second meeting will be held on Wednesday May 9. Parents and or a guardian must sign up and attend one of the two information meetings. Below is the link to register for the Parent Information Meeting.
The Parent Information Meeting will be held at the Forney ISD Central Administration Building. The meeting is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m.
The application deadline to apply for the Dual Credit Courses is May 10, 2018 . Click on the link below to complete the application.

TWO-WAY DUAL LANGUAGE ENRICHMENT PROGRAM APPLICATION
1. The parent/guardian will complete the application process within the designated timeline to be eligible for the selection process. ( Timeline: April 10- May 10)
2. Applications must be submitted only at the Forney ISD Administration building, attention Dina Hernandez, Secretary of Dual Language/ESL Department.
3. Students are orally tested in English. Appointments for assessment will be made at the Program Informational/Application Meetings.
4. Parents will be notified by mail the first week of June upon the child’s acceptance in the program.
