North Forney High School Percussion Ensemble Earns First Place Ranking at WGI Houston Regional

The North Forney High School Indoor Percussion Ensemble recently traveled to Houston, Texas to compete in the Winter Guard International (WGI) Houston Regional and earned a 1st Place ranking in both their preliminary and finals performance. In the finals competition, the ensemble earned the highest score across all three concert divisions in the competition.

This performance was a part of a tour in which the group was able to perform and present clinics across East Texas. The first presentation was in Tyler, Texas, at Tyler Junior College. The North Forney High School Indoor Percussion Ensemble presented their 2018 production titled The End of Days. Following the concert the group presented a clinic on sound amplification as it relates to instrumental music to the music majors at Tyler Junior College.

The same concert/clinic was also presented at Stephen F. Austin University in Nacogdoches, Texas. The evening performance was attended by the local community along with the music faculty and students of Stephen F. Austin University.
