Forney ISD AFJROTC Receives Top Honors
The Air Force Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps (AFJROTC) instructors and cadets of Forney ISD recently earned an overall unit assessment score of 'Exceeds Standards', the highest rating attainable by an Air Force Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps. The unit received the rating during their evaluation on Feb. 5.
Several cadets also received individual awards during the inspection as well. Cadets were recognized for being top performers during the 2017-18 school year, the 2016-17 school year and the 2015-16 school year.
Cadet CMSGT Kyle Keenan and Cadet CMSGT Rachael Passe received awards for being named Top Performers during the 2017-18 school year and Cadet Lt Col Dustin Hicks and Cadet Maj McKenna Lytle received awards for the 2016-17 school year. Cadet Major Aidan Odle and Cadet Captain Jacob Rodriguez earned the Top Cadet honor for the 2015-16 school year.
The Forney ISD AFJROTC cadets performed exceptionally well and took great pride in leading and accomplishing their unit goals. The Forney ISD Air Force JROTC citizenship program is making a positive impact on the cadets, the school and the community.
Lieutenant Colonel Phlecia R. Geary and Chief Master Sergeant Rogerio Garcia have created a dynamic and supportive learning environment coupled with an excellent community outreach program. The instructors provided outstanding leadership in administering the cadet centered citizenship program.
The Forney ISD AFJROTC program consists of students from both Forney High School and North Forney High School.
