North Forney High School FFA Students Receive Honors at Fort Worth Stock Show
Several students in the North Forney High School Future Farmers of America (FFA) program exhibited their livestock projects at the Fort Worth Stock Show in the Breeding Heifer, Breeding Sheep and Breeding Gilt Shows.
The following students received awards in the show:
Kara Langford- 9th Place Shorthorn
Ariel Neal- 10th Place Shorthorn
Brooklin Tingle- 11th Place ORB (out of a class of 56)
Melony Alvarez- 11th Place ORB (out of a class of 30)
Logan Brown- 13th Place ORB
Antonio Taylor- 15th Place Charolais
Andrew Walker- 17th Place Santa Gertrudis
Taylor Beckner- 20th Place ORB (out of a class of 30)
Michael Deckshot- 20th Place Angus
The cattle shows at Fort Worth are some of the biggest in the Country. Exhibitors from all over come to Fort Worth to compete. There were more than 2,600 heifers in the whole show with class sizes that averaged 25 heifers per class.
Students also competed in the Gilt and Sheep show, which is an open competition that includes farms and ranches as well as students. The following North Forney High School students received awards in the Gilt and Sheep show.
Mikki Owens- 2nd Place Chester Gilt, 7th Place Berkshire Gilt
Delaney Bruhn- 10th Place Breeding Sheep (out of 41)
