Forney ISD Varsity Football Players Named to 15-5A All-District Team, Suits Named Offensive MVP

Several varsity football players from North Forney High School and Forney High School were recently named to the District 15-5A All-District Team. Teams in Forney High School and North Forney High School's District 15-5A include Highland Park, Mesquite Poteet, Wylie East, Royse City and West Mesquite.

North Forney High School had several players named to the All-District Team and one player named the Offensive Most Valuable Offensive Player of the District.

Quarterback Colby Suits was named the District's Most Valuable Offensive Player of the district. Suits led the team to the Regional Round of the state playoffs and was named the Built Ford Tough Player of the Week for his performance in the Falcon's win against Wylie East on Sept. 22, 2017. He was 16-28 for 400 yards and threw four touchdowns and ran the ball 18 times for 193 yards and five touchdowns while also catching a touchdown on a trick play in the win over the Raiders.

Three players from North Forney High School were also named to the All-District First Team Offense including Calvin Ribera, Jordan Carroll and Austin Patricia.

Five Falcon players were named to the All-District Second Team Offense including Jayden Barrall, Corey Mayfield, Michael Court, Adam Friesen and John Taylor.

Two members of the Falcon's defense were named to the All-District First Team Defense including Devin Beamon and Willie Thomas. Roby Robinson, Jordan Carroll and Devin Holt were named to the All-District Second Team Defense.

Several North Forney players were also selected to the All-State Honorable Mention Team including Jackson Ennels, Barclay Ford, Cam Rogers, Cliff Funderburk, Javon Mackenzie, KC Cornelius, Chris Furlough and Carlos Rodriguez.

Forney High School also had several players named to the All-District team including center Preston Miller who was named to the Second Team All-District Offense Team. Linebacker Donovan Graham was named to the Second Team All-District Defense Team.

Several Forney High School Players were named to the Honorable Mention All-District Team including Aaron Rideaux, Austin Ream, Cameron Tate, Matt Huffman, Devon Rideaux, Sean Stephens, Cameron Harris, Garrett Grigg, AJ Schultz and Zyan Nelson.

A number of members of the Forney High School football team were also named to the Academic All-District Team. Players named to the Academic All-District Team include Drew Derrick, Jaylon Hutchings, Morgan Langfod, Morgan Wallace, Brandon Sanders, Slade Pruitt, Hasheem Vanbolden and Joey McDermett.

In addition to the All-District Team selections, several Forney High School players were named to the Texas High School Coaches Association (THSCA) and the Texas National Guard Academic All-State Team.

Drew Derrick and Morgan Wallace were named to the 2nd Team Academic All-State THSCA and the Texas National Guard Academic All-State Team and Jaylon Hutchins and Morgan Langford were named to the Honorable Mention Academic All-State THSCA and the Texas National Guard Academic All-State Team.
