Forney ISD Sets a New Record with FCA Unity Bowl Canned Food Drive
In association with the FCA Unity Bowl, Forney ISD conducts the FCA Unity Bowl Canned Food Drive to benefit the Forney Food Pantry. The canned/boxed food drive began on Monday, Oct. 30 and continued through to Friday, Nov. 10, the day of the 2017 FCA Unity Bowl.
Every school in the District, and the Forney ISD Admnistration Building, collected canned and boxed foods items during the drive. A total of 35,412 food items were donated across the District this year, breaking last year's record of 20,749 by more than 14,600 donations!
The District would like to thank all of the students, teaches, staff members, parents and community members for their generous donations to benefit the Forney Food Pantry and the families they support!
The Forney ISD Air Force Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps Cadets will visit every school on Tuesday, Nov. 14 to pick up all of the donations and deliver them to the Forney Food Pantry, just in time for the Thanksgiving holiday!
35,412!
Thank you!
