Forney AFJROTC Cadets pay Respect to Veterans
Forney ISD Air Force Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps (AFJROTC) Cadets recently placed American Flags on Veteran's graves in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area on Memorial Day. The cadets placed flags on Veteran's graves at the Dallas/Ft. Worth National Cemetery and on veteran's graves at the Prairie View and Hill Crest cemeteries in Forney.
Honoring veterans on Memorial Day has become an annual tradition for the Forney ISD AFJROTC Cadets in order to pay respect to Veterans and their families for their sacrifices to our Nation. The cadets start early in the morning and visit each location and spend their time identifying passed veterans and honoring them with a small American Flag to the side of their final resting place. The event takes place rain or shine and the cadets always make sure that nothing will prevent them from giving their appreciation to those that rendered the ultimate sacrifice.
