North Forney High School AP Art Student Wins 2017 Congressional Art Competition


Amanda Villarreal, a North Forney High School junior, won 1st place in the 2017 Congressional Art Competition for the 5th Congressional District. Ms. Villarreal wins a trip to Washington, D.C. where she will meet with Representative Jeb Hensarling for a ceremony June 29 at which time her artwork, 'Friday Night Lights' will hang for one year in a congressional display along with other winning artworks from congressional districts across the United States.

Amanda is an AP Art student at North Forney School High. She is the 5th student from North Forney to win this award since the school opened in 2009 and is looking forward to seeing the nation's capital for the first time.
