Forney ISD Board of Trustees Approve New Principal for Warren Middle School
On Wednesday, Feb. 22, the Forney ISD Board of Trustees held a special called meeting and approved Sondra Floyd as the new principal at Warren Middle School. Floyd replaces Joseph Pouncy who recently accepted a position with the Region 10 Education Service Center.
Floyd has 17 years of experience in education and is currently the Assistant Principal at Keller Middle School in the Keller Independent School District in Keller, Texas. She has also served as the Assistant Principal at Basswood Elementary School and Bette Perot Elementary School, also in Keller ISD. She has more than 10 years of experience as a campus administrator and has served as the Assistant Principal at Keller Middle School since 2012.
Floyd began her career in education in 2000 as a fourth grade teacher at Grace E. Hardeman Elementary School in Watauga, Texas, which is part of the Birdville Independent School District. She was a third grade teacher at Roanoke Elementary School and a third and fifth grade teacher at Northwest ISD which is located in Ft. Worth, Texas. Her experience also includes being a Student Support Specialist at Independence Elementary School in Keller ISD.
In addition to her teaching and administrative experience, Floyd also serves as an Evaluator/Trainer for Texas Schools to Watch and is an active member of three different professional organizations including Texas Association of Secondary School Principals, Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development and is currently serving as the President Elect of the Texas Middle School Association (TMSA).

Together we will continue to inspire students through our innovative education and ideas.”
Floyd received her Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education at Oklahoma State University in Stillwater, Oklahoma and earned her Master’s Degree in Educational Administration from Texas Woman’s University in Denton, Texas. She holds a Generalist Teacher Certification, (1st-8th Grade) and a Principal Certification.
When asked about Mrs. Floyd, Forney ISD Superintendent of Schools, Suzanne McWilliams stated, “We feel very fortunate to welcome such an outstanding administrator into Forney ISD. We were very impressed with her interview and have heard nothing but rave reviews from educators who have known her. Mrs. Floyd brings with her a wealth of instructional knowledge and a passion for middle school education. I know she will be an outstanding principal for Warren Middle School.”
