Davis and Gober Named District Teachers of the Year

Forney ISD recognized all of the 2016-2017 Campus Teachers of the Year during special ceremonies on Monday, Feb. 20 and also announced the District's Elementary Teacher of the Year and the Secondary Teacher of the Year.

The announcements were made during a special "Super Hero" ceremonies held on the District's Professional Development Day. The secondary teachers of the year were recognized during a ceremony in the morning and the elementary teachers were recognized during an afternoon ceremony.

The 2016-2017 Secondary Teachers of the Year are Nikki Hipo from Brown Middle School, Brandie Davis from Warren Middle School, Stephen Fortenberry from Forney High School, Cathy Lamb from North Forney High School and Patty Williams from the Forney Academic Center.

In addition to recognizing each campus teacher of the year, the District also announced the 2016-2017 Secondary Teacher of the Year. This year's Secondary Teacher of the Year is Brandie Davis from Warren Middle School.

In the afternoon session, the following elementary campus teachers of the year were recognized: Andrea Fleske from Blackburn Elementary, Alexis Burgan from Claybon Elementary, Jennifer Ozuna from Criswell Elementary, Lori Burris from Crosby Elementary, Kelli Jordan from Henderson Elementary, Kristi Hopkins from Johnson Elementary, Julie Gober from Lewis Elementary, Jennifer Carter from Rhea Elementary and Erin Moore from Smith Elementary.

The 2016-2017 District Elementary Teacher of the Year is Julie Gober from Lewis Elementary.

Both Davis and Gober will be included in the Region 10 Teacher of the Year considerations.
