Forney ISD Swim and Dive Teams Win Top Honors at District 13-5 Meet

The Forney High School Jackrabbit and North Forney High School Falcon Swim and Dive teams made history recently when the schools captured top honors at the District 13-5A Swim and Dive Competitions in Rockwall, Texas.

The Forney High School Jackrabbit Boys and Girls Teams won the District Championship and the North Forney High School Lady Falcons Team came in second. The North Forney High School Boys Swim and Dive Team captured third place in District 13-5A.

North Forney High School had district champions in the Girls 200 Medley Relay, the Boys 200 Individual Medley and the Girls and Boys one meter diving competition.

Forney High School won district championships in the Boys 200 Freestyle, the Boys 500 Freestyle, the Girls 200 Free Relay and Boys 100 Meter Backstroke. Together the teams had 33 swimmers qualify for 65 events in the Region 4-5A Championships which will be held on Feb. 3 and 4 in Lewisville, Texas.

The following swim and dive members from North Forney High School qualified for the Regional Championship: Xochitl Lopez, Hope Carter, Cadyn LaBounty, Ellyse Fishburn, Robby Clark, Austin Clevenger, Chad Phillips, Damon Harper, Brianna Sanchez, David Miranda, Jeffrey Sharp, Alyssa Miller, McKenna Collins, Christian Davis and Dylan King.

Forney High School Swim and Dive team members who qualified for the Regional Championships include Ashlan George, Katelyn Gross, Katia DeDominicis, Mikayla Halsdorf, Joey Hite, Ben Santibanez, Eric Gremp, Caii Finley, Leah Kuban, Clay Henson, Jon Lindeman, Shelby Holliman, Cadey Craft, Hasheem Van Bolden, Logan Pritchett, Ivan Carrasco, William Crawford and Nicholas Theriot.

In addition to the team and individual achievements, the Forney ISD swim and dive coaches also earned top honors in District. The Forney ISD Swim and Dive coaches, Head Coach Dwayne Davis and Assistant Coach Jason Thompson were named the District’s Coaching Staff of the Year. Davis and Thompson coach both the FHS and NFHS swim and dive teams.
