Forney ISD Partners with Parents Through Parent Curriculum
Forney ISD is committed to ensuring that parents are kept up to date with pertinent information regarding their education in Forney ISD. In an effort to partner with parents, Forney ISD has created a Parent Curriculum. This Curriculum is designed to help parents gain awareness for what their students are doing in the classroom, see the standards that students are held accountable for, and create opportunities for conversations that enhance and solidify classroom learning. Currently, the Parent Curriculum is available for kindergarten through 6th grade. If you have children in 7th through 12th grade, please visit your child’s content Canvas pages to gather information for what is happening in your child’s classes.
On each Parent Curriculum page, parents will find a link for monthly learning that contains content topics, vocabulary, and activities for Math, ELAR, Science, and Socials Studies. In addition, a link to the learning standards set by Texas Education Agency (TEA) has been provided. This transparent view into student learning will help create opportunities for enlightening, meaningful and academic conversations.
