School Safety Reminders
Now that school is back in session, please join us in reminding students of some safety precautions. If your child/children walk to and from school each day, please remind them to be aware of their surroundings at all times. Make sure they understand to look both ways before crossing streets and to be alert to all traffic around them. Remind them to walk in groups as much as possible and to not talk with or accept rides with people they do not know.
If your student is a bus rider, please remind them to look both ways when exiting the bus to ensure that there are no cars trying to pass the bus while it is stopped. Although there are laws requiring all traffic to stop for a bus that is loading or unloading, there are distracted drivers who overlook the law and those who simply refuse to obey the law. Students should all be cautious of all traffic at all times. Below are links to some videos that you could share with your child to reinforce these safety precautions.
