8th Grade Summer Success Initiative
End-Of-Course (EOC) Remediation
Purpose:
To assist with accelerated instruction for those 5th and 8th grade students who do not meet standard on STAAR reading or STAAR math second administration, and students that did not pass the Algebra I, English I,English II, Biology and US History End-of-Course (EOC) exams.

Location:
5th grade- Crosby Elementary, 495 Diamond Creek Dr., Forney, TX 75126
8th grade- Student’s home middle school campus
EOC - FHS- Forney High School, 1800 College Ave., Forney, TX 75126
NFHS- Brown Middle School, 1050 Windmill Farms Blvd., Forney, TX 75126

Registration:
At home campus; campus principals will inform parents of students who qualify

Classes:
June 11—June 25 (No Fridays)
​
STAAR Retest
June 26—5th and 8th grade Math
June 27—5th and 8th grade Reading
June 25- English I EOC
June 27- English II EOC
June 25-28- Algebra I, Biology and US History testing window
​
Times:
8 a.m.—11 a.m. - June 11-25 (No Fridays)
11:30 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. - June 11-25 (No Fridays)- For students that need to retake more than one STAAR or EOC assessment.

Materials:
Charged Chromebooks and chargers must be brought to school daily
​
Transportation:
Bus pick up and drop off will be provided for 5th and 8th grades, if needed. A schedule will be provided to parent at registration.

2018 Credit Recovery and Acceleration Summer School
Purpose:
To assist students that did not pass courses required for graduation and for students that would like to earn additional credits during the summer.
​
Location:
Forney High School, 1800 College Ave., Forney, TX 75126
​
Registration:
At home campus
​
Classes:
July 9 —July 26 (No Fridays)
8 a.m. - 11 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. - 2:30 p.m.
Students may work on the coursework from home, but must take final exams in person at FHS in order to receive credit.
Cost:
Middle School- $150 per course; $75 per course for low SES students
High School- $150 per semester; $75 per semester for low SES student

Transportation:
No transportation will be provided for credit recovery or acceleration.
